“Hoods of Motherhood” Toronto Book Launch

The Toronto book launch for Hoods of Motherhood: A Collection of Poems (published by Prolific Pulse Press LLC) was successful! The venue in downtown Toronto, Flying Books was a gorgeous backdrop — they have so many colourful books.

I wish to thank all my family, friends, colleagues, and fellow poets for sharing this special day with me. I am so grateful for the photos by faninthestands (we met last month at an open mic event at a local arts centre Buddy In Bad Times Theatre).

I read poems that paid tribute to the matriarchs in my life, including my grandmothers, Toby and Simy, and my mother Dora. The poems I read were entitled, “The Eternal Child in the Mother,” “I Can Rest Now,” “My Bubby Toby’s Secret,” “Mi Abuela,” “Divine Motherhood,” and “Our Sanctuary.”
